A story of land, love, and nature
The story of Olivia is the result of a great love story, the one between Alessandro and his husband Isaia. It all began in the 90s when Alessandro, an agriculture expert from Brianza was advised by a friend to make an investment in Abruzzo. He bought a small farmhouse with vineyards and olive grove lands in Casalbordino, in the province of Chieti, on the wonderful Trabocchi coast.
Isaia ,from Bergamo, has been working as a Manager for a fashion giant for almost 20 years, but he could not resist the ‘call of nature’. So along with his husband they decided to transform that investment into a real Company. Alessandro and Isaia are a civil couple, they chose to get married here in Abruzzo, in this region that they now consider their home. It is 2019 and the Azienda Agricola Olivia is born. The couple start to produce wine with their own Label that is launched on the market in 2023.
Proud guardians of a territory
Agricola Olivia has about 60 hectares of land, 45 of vineyards and the rest of olive trees all located in a truly unique landscape just a few meters from the magnificent Torino di Sangro seaside, surrounded by the majestic Maiella Mountain. The main grape varieties are: Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino and also international ones such as Pinot Grigio, Cabernet and Sauvignon. Olive varieties are: Gentile, Leccio del Corno and Moraiolo. The owners of Olivia care a lot about social responsibility, viewed at 360 degrees: from the respect of the land, to themselves and to their collaborators up to the final Consumer.
The treasures of Olivia
The thought behind the wines of Olivia is that of maximizing the product and the territory. All ideas come from this principle. Choices of wines and their processes often came up during long walks between Alessandro and Isaia, around the company’s vineyards. Here, they evaluated all the various characteristics and potential of the terroir in order to pursue quality, expressiveness and longevity of the wine in the bottle. Olivia chose processes aimed to maximize and preserve these grapes in their own territory. The labels of these wines are chosen as well to reflect the Company’s vision. The triumph of Eros and of the wine, celebrated in ancient Rome in one of Bacchanalia’s rituals, followers of God Bacchus.
“The process of the wines starts from the selection of the best raw materials from the vineyards, in order to achieve the highest quality possible.”
